Revelation for Web Developers
There are a lot of debug plugins for WordPress, but only few of them are really useful. A really, really, no really useful plugin, however, is query monitor from John Blackbourn. The enlargement seems to be a revelation. The perfect debugging plugin for web developers who want to check their WordPress pages for errors and other things. Query Monitor can do everything, is fast and clearly structured, is my new Must Have Plugin for WordPress. Why Query Monitor is so ingenious and what exactly it can and does, you will find out in the following lines.
Everything directly at a glance
Basically, it's very simple. Query Monitor allows you to easily check your database queries, hooks, conditionals, HTTP requests, and much more. Query Monitor nests itself in the Admin Bar. There it displays the most important information of the current page directly, such as response time, size, number of database calls and so on. That alone is already practical, but with one click or mouseover, there is a lot more information. Basically, the complete website is analyzed, every call and command is listed, PHP errors are output and displayed exactly. Personally, I discovered such a small error, which seemed to have escaped me before. For this reason alone, Query Monitor has already paid off.
The answer to all questions
The benefits of Query Monitor are fabulous, because in addition to errors, all aspects of your own website can be closely examined and analyzed. Why is WordPress so slow? Why does Plugin XYZ always generate an error? Where do these strange redirects actually come from? All questions that can be answered easily and directly with the Query Monitor Plugin. I told you: It's really the perfect extension for all developers out there. Even AJAX debugging is possible. Query Monitor leaves nothing to be desired in the end and that's why it's a must have for all web workers. It's a wonderful and very useful plugin, which you should definitely give it a try.
Hint: The plugin in the WordPress directory did not work properly for me. If this hasn't been fixed yet, you can have a look at the via GitHub download.
